2026/27 tax year
UK tax bands for the 2026/27 tax year
2026/27 runs from 6 April 2026 to 5 April 2027, and these are the current UK tax bands — the ones every calculator on this site uses.
For England, Wales and Northern Ireland the 2026/27 bands are unchanged from 2025/26: a £12,570 personal allowance, then 20% up to £50,270, 40% up to £125,140 and 45% above — the thresholds remain frozen, so fiscal drag pulls more income into the higher bands. Scotland is where 2026/27 differs: the Starter and Basic rate bands were extended by 7.4% (the 20% basic rate now runs to £29,526), while the Intermediate, Higher, Advanced and Top thresholds hold. The £100,000 personal allowance taper is unchanged. The main UK tax bands guide covers all of this — England/Wales/NI and all six Scottish bands — in full.
